Goldin Auction Combines Pokémon and 1986-87 Fleer
Logan Paul and Ken Goldin are teaming up again for a new auction tied to The National Sports Collectors Convention, with a mix of high-end box break excitement and VIP access on the line. The Logan Paul & Ken Goldin: “National” Box Break Experience is live on Goldin and gives winning bidders the chance to chase rare cards while also earning an invitation to a special event at this year’s National in the Chicago area.
The auction is built around two of the hobby’s most recognizable products: 1st Edition Pokémon packs and 1986-87 Fleer basketball packs. Goldin says the experience is meant to celebrate both the 30th anniversary of Pokémon and the 40th anniversary of the Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card release.
What the Winning Bidders Receive
According to the auction details, each lot includes three 1st Edition Pokémon packs, with one Charizard art pack, one Blastoise art pack, and one Venusaur art pack. The packs have been weighed to verify the presence of a holo card in each lot.
The same auction also includes lots featuring packs from 1986-87 Fleer, the set that includes the Michael Jordan rookie card. In those lots, the winning bidder receives one pack. While there is no guarantee of what will be inside, the pack could contain one of the set’s most famous cards, including a Michael Jordan rookie that can reach six-figure value depending on condition and market demand.
The Fleer set also features rookie cards of Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, and Clyde Drexler.
VIP Access at The National
Beyond the cards themselves, the auction adds an in-person experience at The National Sports Collectors Convention. Each auction winner will receive a VIP invitation for a July 30 event at The National in the Chicago area. The auction listing notes that winners are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.
Goldin said the event will be part of a larger celebration at The National, describing it as a chance for bidders to join him and Logan Paul on stage for a live pack rip. The auction also includes the possibility of a custom live-read shout-out from Paul and Goldin.
Starting Bid Set at $1
The auction opened with a starting bid of $1, making the experience accessible to a wide range of collectors. In total, there are 44 lots split between the Pokémon and Fleer offerings. That structure gives bidders multiple chances to land one of the featured experiences and the accompanying VIP invitation.
The setup reflects the continued partnership between Paul and Goldin, who have worked together before on a special break. This latest auction brings that collaboration back to the center of the hobby conversation as collectors look ahead to The National and the anniversary milestones being highlighted by the event.
Why the Auction Is Drawing Attention
The appeal of the auction comes from the combination of rarity, nostalgia, and access. 1st Edition Pokémon packs remain among the most sought-after sealed items in the hobby, and 1986-87 Fleer remains one of the most important basketball releases ever produced. Bringing those products together in a live auction tied to The National gives collectors a chance to pursue both a premium card chase and a convention experience.
For collectors, the appeal is not limited to the cards inside the packs. The event also offers a chance to be part of a live moment with Paul and Goldin at one of the hobby’s biggest annual gatherings. With the auction already live, bidders are competing for a package that blends sealed wax, celebrity involvement, and access to The National in one lot.
The auction is currently available on Goldin.
