Pokémon Claims All Five of the Week’s Biggest TCG Sales
Pokémon collectors pushed another strong week of high-end trading card sales, with the top five TCG transactions combining for $3,977,000 from October 11 to 17, 2026, according to Card Ladder sales data. That total marked a sharp increase from the previous week’s $2.96 million and was driven by a seven-figure Pikachu sale at No. 1.
The week’s results also included an unusual 19-card lot, two Art Academy Pikachu cards, and three sales tied at $660,000. Once again, Pokémon occupied every spot in the top five, showing the continued strength of the brand across both vintage favorites and unusual promotional releases.
No. 5: 2001 Pokémon Southern Islands Promo Reverse Holo Mew PSA 10
The No. 5 sale was a 2001 Pokémon Southern Islands Promo Reverse Holo Mew #1 graded PSA 10, which sold for $660,000 through Fanatics Weekly on October 11. The result gives collectors another notable benchmark for one of Pokémon’s early promotional releases.
Mew also appeared in last week’s rankings, when a Southern Islands Holo Mew PSA 10 sold for $840,000. The new sale provides another point of comparison for the Southern Islands promo line, which remains a recognizable part of the hobby’s early Pokémon history.
No. 4: 2015 Pokémon XY Art Academy Competition Meli Pikachu PSA 10
At No. 4, a 2015 Pokémon XY Art Academy Competition Meli Pikachu PSA 10 also sold for $660,000 through Fanatics Weekly on October 11. The card is part of Pokémon’s Art Academy competition program, which stands apart from standard set releases because of its origin and artwork.
Art Academy cards have become especially notable among collectors because they combine Pikachu’s broad appeal with a promotional backstory that differs from traditional pack-pulled cards. This week’s results show that interest in the program remains strong, with another Art Academy Pikachu appearing even higher on the list.
No. 3: 2012 Pokémon Black & White Plasma Storm Full Art Lugia EX PSA 10
The No. 3 transaction was a 2012 Pokémon Black & White Plasma Storm Full Art Lugia EX #134 graded PSA 10, which sold for $660,000 through Fanatics Weekly on October 11. The card adds another major Lugia result to the high-end Pokémon market, this time from the Black & White era.
Last week’s rankings included a Crystal Lugia from Aquapolis that reached $360,000, and this week’s Plasma Storm result shows that Lugia continues to draw significant collector attention across different eras and card styles. The Full Art presentation gives this card a very different look from earlier Lugia releases, adding to its appeal in the market.

No. 2: 2002 Pokémon Legendary Collection Complete 19-Card Holo Lot PSA 10
One of the most unusual sales in the weekly rankings landed at No. 2. A complete 19-card lot of 2002 Pokémon Legendary Collection holos, including Charizard, Zapdos, and Dark Blastoise, sold for $960,000 through Fanatics Weekly on October 11. Every card in the lot was graded PSA 10.
Unlike the individual-card sales that usually fill the weekly top five, this result highlights the value collectors place on assembling a complete high-grade group from a popular early Pokémon release. Securing one gem-mint card can be difficult enough, and this sale shows how much more rare and desirable a full 19-card PSA 10 lot can be.
No. 1: 2015 Pokémon Japanese XY Promo Art Academy Y. Fujishima Pikachu PSA 10
The top sale of the week belonged to a 2015 Pokémon Japanese XY Promo Art Academy Y. Fujishima Pikachu #XY-P graded PSA 10, which sold for $1,037,000 through Goldin on October 11. It was the only seven-figure sale in the week’s top five and gave Pikachu another major headline in the high-end market.
The card comes from the Art Academy promotional program, which featured artwork created through a Pokémon-themed art competition rather than the standard trading card design process. That unusual origin has helped make the cards especially collectible, and this week’s result shows how much demand there is for the rarest examples.
With another Art Academy Pikachu also appearing at No. 4, the program was the clear story of the week. Together, the two cards accounted for nearly $1.7 million in sales and underscored how much attention these promotional releases continue to attract.
Another Strong Week for Pokémon at the Top of the Market
Pokémon once again swept the entire top five in the weekly TCG sales rankings, and the combined total nearly reached $4 million. The mix of results ranged from early promotional cards and Black & White-era hits to a complete Legendary Collection lot, giving the week a broad cross-section of the hobby’s high-end demand.
The biggest takeaway was the strength of the Art Academy program, which produced both the week’s highest sale and another top-five result. At the same time, the presence of Mew, Lugia, and Legendary Collection holos shows that collectors continue to place major value on cards and lots tied to some of Pokémon’s most recognizable eras and characters.
With sales data from Card Ladder showing all five spots occupied by Pokémon once again, the market’s appetite for rare and high-grade examples remains clear across both individual cards and assembled lots.
