2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball captures a changing NBA landscape

The 2026-27 NBA season has already delivered major storylines, and Topps is folding those changes into the latest edition of Flagship Basketball. The new release highlights a league that looks very different from a year ago, with major stars in new uniforms and a rookie class beginning to make an early impact.

Among the biggest shifts reflected in the product are LeBron James now playing in Philadelphia alongside Jaylen Brown and Giannis Antetokounmpo chasing another championship in Miami. Those developments, along with the arrival of several high-profile rookies, help shape the checklist and design approach for 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball.

First official rookie cards for top prospects

The 300-card Base Set includes the first official rookie cards for several of the most closely watched young players in the league. The featured rookies named for the set are AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson, and Yaxel Lendenborg.

Topps also uses the base checklist to mark some of the NBA's biggest current storylines. The set includes the first cards of LeBron James with the 76ers and Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Heat, giving collectors an early look at two of the league's most notable team changes in flagship form.

Alongside those additions, the base set also features established NBA stars including Jalen Brunson, Stephen Curry, Victor Wembanyama, Cooper Flagg, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Super Short Prints and Gold 1/1 All Kings cards

One of the chase elements in the product is the All Kings subset, which returns with a new top-end rarity. Topps says the set includes the first-ever Gold 1/1 All Kings cards, making them the product's Super Short Prints.

That addition gives the release another premium layer beyond the standard base cards and rookie cards, with the All Kings concept positioned as one of the more exclusive parts of the checklist.

Insert sets bring new technology and championship themes

Flagship Basketball includes multiple insert themes built around current NBA storylines and visual presentation. Bounce is one of the featured inserts and uses card technology designed to mimic the texture of a basketball.

Another insert, Quest for the Crown, focuses on the league's championship contenders. The theme fits the current NBA landscape, where team movement and emerging stars have created a fresh mix of title hopefuls.

The release also brings back the classic 1981-82 Topps Basketball design. That retro look is used for current stars and rookies, and autograph variations are included as part of the design return.

Autographs and memorabilia cards across the checklist

Autograph content is spread throughout the product, with several different themes mentioned for the release. Among them are Flagship Real One Autographs, Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs, New Applicants, and Level Up Signatures.

The Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs line gives the product another rookie-focused chase, while the other autograph themes add depth to the checklist for collectors looking beyond the base set.

Memorabilia cards are also part of the release. Game-used memorabilia cards feature Stephen Curry, Victor Wembanyama, Luka Dončić, Anthony Edwards, and other NBA stars. The Franchise Fabrics line is also included among the memorabilia offerings.

Hobby box configuration and release format

Hobby boxes for 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball are configured with 20 packs per box and 12 cards per pack. Each hobby box includes one autograph or relic card.

Topps lists the retail price for a hobby box at $179.99. With a 300-card base set, multiple insert themes, autograph variations, memorabilia cards, and the Gold 1/1 All Kings chase, the product is built to cover both the league's biggest names and its newest faces in one flagship release.
