Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Promo Cards Arrive Across Multiple Products

Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration launches worldwide on September 16, and its promo cards are spread across a product lineup that ranges from $20 to $180 MSRP. Rather than relying on retailer-specific purchase bonuses, most of the promos are tied directly to sealed products, which means collectors need to know which box contains which card before buying.

The release is rolling out in five waves through December, so some promos will be available at launch while others will not reach shelves until later in the year. That staggered schedule creates different levels of availability across the lineup, especially for collectors focused on specific characters.

There is one major exception to the product-based structure: the Nidorina promo in the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box. Outside of that, the key question is not where to shop, but which product to open.

Nidorina Appears in the Elite Trainer Box and Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box

Nidorina is the only true retailer-exclusive promo in the set, and it is tied to Pokémon Center, The Pokémon Company’s own storefront. The standard Elite Trainer Box includes nine booster packs and one Nidorina promo, and it is available through major retailers.

The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box is the upgraded version of the product. It includes 11 booster packs and two Nidorina promos, with one of those cards carrying a Pokémon Center logo. That logo variant does not appear in any other product and is not available through any other seller.

Historically, store-stamped promos are treated differently from unstamped versions because the supply is limited to one storefront’s allocation. The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box reportedly had a purchase limit of two per customer and sold out during its first preorder window. Any listings from third-party sellers are resales.

Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres Lead the Poster Collection

The 30th Celebration Poster Collection includes three foil promos in a single product, along with three booster packs and a full-size, two-sided poster featuring cards from the expansion. The promos are Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

Because all three cards are packaged together, the Poster Collection offers strong raw promo value relative to its price point. At the same time, the shared product structure means none of the three should be expected to carry much individual scarcity on its own.

Even so, the Kanto legendary birds remain durable favorites with collectors, which gives the product added appeal beyond the simple math of how many promos are included.

Alolan Exeggutor and Lucario Split the Tech Sticker Collection

The Tech Sticker Collection comes in two versions, one featuring an Alolan Exeggutor promo and the other featuring a Lucario promo. Each version also includes a matching sticker sheet and three booster packs.

That split matters because it divides supply between two separate products. In practice, the effective supply of each promo is lower than it would be if both cards were packaged together in a single release. Retailers also rarely allocate the two versions evenly, so collectors may find one version much easier to locate than the other depending on their area.

The Alolan Exeggutor version was among the first products to open for preorder at Pokémon Center, with a reported limit of one per customer.

Sylveon ex and Greninja ex Appear in Two Different Products

Sylveon ex and Greninja ex are featured in both the Pokémon ex Box and the Pokémon ex Tin, giving collectors two chances to chase the same pair of promos across different release windows.

The Pokémon ex Box arrives on September 16 and includes four booster packs, one foil promo featuring either Sylveon ex or Greninja ex, and a corresponding oversized card. The Pokémon ex Tin is scheduled for December 4 and also includes four booster packs with the same promo pairing.

These two promos have some of the strongest character appeal in the launch wave, but the December tin means the September version is not the only opportunity to find them. For collectors focused on short-term availability, that later reprint reduces the sense of immediate scarcity.

Anyone buying the Pokémon ex Box specifically for the promo should keep the tin release in mind, since the market will have another supply wave before the end of the year.

Victini and Zeraora Arrive in the Battle Decks

Victini and Zeraora are attached to the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks, which arrive on October 30. Each all-foil 60-card deck is led by Espeon ex or Umbreon ex and includes a deck box, coin, and playmat, along with a full-art Victini or Zeraora promo.

These products are easy to overlook because they release well after launch attention has moved on. They are also aimed at players as much as collectors, which can leave the promos undervalued in the weeks after release.

That player-focused demand often means Battle Deck promos do not receive the same early collecting attention as boxed products tied more directly to sealed-display purchases. For collectors tracking every promo in the release, though, the October 30 wave is an important part of the checklist.

How the 30th Celebration Promo Structure Affects Collectors

Unlike the store-promo pattern collectors saw in July with Pitch Black, where Armarouge, Primarina, and Zarude were split across Best Buy, Hot Topic, and GameStop as purchase bonuses, 30th Celebration keeps most of its promos tied to sealed products. That makes the chase more predictable in one sense, but also more complicated because the same product family can contain different cards depending on the version.

For collectors, the biggest challenge is avoiding the assumption that all promos are available in the same place or at the same time. The release is spread across several product types, and the five-wave rollout through December means the checklist will continue to expand after launch.

The structure also creates different collecting strategies depending on the card. Some promos are easiest to find in value-oriented products with multiple copies in the same box, while others are tied to limited storefront allocations or later-wave releases. That mix makes the set especially important for collectors who track sealed products as closely as individual cards.
