Alt Bounty Auction Adds More Heat to Cooper Flagg 1/1 Hunt
Alt's new bounty auction has pushed the potential price for Cooper Flagg's highly coveted one-of-one rookie card to $3 million, and there is still plenty of time for that number to rise.
With Flagg's one-of-one rookie debut patch card now found, the chase has shifted from the break room to the bidding war. Before RhodyBreakers pulled the biggest card of 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update, offers were already building from across the hobby for a shot at the card.
That interest has only intensified since the card surfaced, with a growing list of bidders and would-be consignors trying to get involved.
How the Bounty Race Built Around the Flagg Card
Multiple names have entered the conversation around the Cooper Flagg one-of-one rookie debut patch autograph card, including the Dallas Mavericks, Goldin Auctions, influencers and LLCs posting public offers for the card.
One of the most notable early offers came from OnlyRips, which posted a $2.25 million bounty for the card on August 8.
Alt has now entered the picture with its first-ever Bounty Auction, creating a formal bidding structure around the card before it is consigned anywhere else. The platform's current top bid stood at $3 million, or $3.6 million including the buyer's premium, as of 8:30 AM EST.
With 15 days still remaining, the final number could continue to climb.
What Alt's Bounty Auction Means
Alt says the new format is designed to turn the hobby's long-running bounty chatter into a verified auction environment. Instead of unverified social media offers, the platform is allowing real binding bids to be placed on the card ahead of any possible consignment.
If the owner chooses to consign the card with Alt, every bid in the bounty auction carries through to the live auction.
Alt CEO Leore Avidar said the company saw the moment as a chance to create what he described as a prediction market for the demand that has surrounded the card.
He also said the structure gives the owner a clearer sense of the card's value, even if the card is never ultimately sold through Alt.
Avidar said the goal is to replace the uncertainty of hobby social posts with verified bidders and real money.
Why the Cooper Flagg Card Has Become the Center of the Hobby
The Cooper Flagg rookie debut patch autograph card has quickly become one of the most watched cards in the hobby. Once RhodyBreakers pulled the card, attention shifted immediately to how high the market might push its value.
The card has drawn interest from collectors, platforms and outside bidders looking to attach themselves to what could become one of the defining basketball card sales of the year.
If the final sale price for the card exceeds $5.11 million, it would become the highest basketball card sale of the year. That mark is currently held by a one-of-one Victor Wembanyama Black Prizm rookie card that sold for exactly $5.11 million on May 26, 2026.
Alt's Recent Momentum in the Hobby
Alt has been active in the market recently, and the Flagg bounty auction adds another high-profile moment for the platform.
Just last week, Alt made headlines by selling the highest-selling Josh Allen card of all time. Landing the Cooper Flagg one-of-one rookie card would give the company another major result to chase and could further establish the platform in the high-end card space.
For now, the bounty auction continues to build around one of the most sought-after basketball cards of the year, with the price floor already at $3 million and the clock still running.
