2026 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball Brings Sapphire Finish to Chrome

2026 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball takes the flagship Chrome Baseball checklist and gives it the familiar Sapphire treatment, adding a blue gem-like finish across the set. The online-exclusive release keeps the format collectors expect from Sapphire products, with a limited print run, a small insert lineup, and a focus on numbered parallels and autographs.

Topps says each hobby box includes one hard-signed autograph numbered to /199 or fewer and three numbered parallels. The product is built around the 300-card base checklist from 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball, along with Image Variations, two autograph sets, and one insert set.

Base Set Checklist Covers 300 Cards

The base set mirrors all 300 cards from 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball, now presented with the Sapphire blue finish. The checklist mixes stars, rookies, and veterans across every team, with top names led by Shohei Ohtani, Bobby Witt Jr., Aaron Judge, Paul Skenes, Julio Rodríguez, Mike Trout, Elly De La Cruz, and Fernando Tatis Jr.

Rookies are spread throughout the checklist as well, including Sal Stewart, Samuel Basallo, Kevin McGonigle, Jac Caglianone, JJ Wetherholt, Trey Yesavage, Roman Anthony, Cam Schlittler, Bryce Eldridge, and Chase Burns. The base checklist also includes international names such as Munetaka Murakami, Kazuma Okamoto, Shinnosuke Ogasawara, and Tatsuya Imai.

As with other Sapphire releases, Topps has not yet revealed the full parallel lineup for the base set. The company has confirmed several chase options, including Gold (/50), Red (/5), and Padparadscha 1/1.

Image Variations Return With Sapphire Treatment

The 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball Image Variations also return in Sapphire form. There are 50 Image Variation cards in the product, and they receive their own Sapphire parallels on top of the base blue version.

Topps has listed the following parallels for the Image Variations:

  • Gold (/50)
  • Orange (/25)
  • Black (/10)
  • Red (/5)
  • Padparadscha 1/1

Among the Image Variation subjects are Shohei Ohtani, Bobby Witt Jr., Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Paul Skenes, Julio Rodríguez, Freddie Freeman, Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Elly De La Cruz, Francisco Lindor, and others from the 50-card subset.

Autographs Anchor Each Box

Autographs remain one of the main draws in 2026 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball. Each box includes one hard-signed autograph, and Topps is offering two autograph sets in the product: Sapphire Autographs and Sapphire Selections Autographs.

Sapphire Autographs

The Sapphire Autographs checklist includes 34 cards and is built around rookies and young players from the Chrome set. The list features names such as Andrew Painter, Bryce Eldridge, Chase DeLauter, Carter Jensen, C.J. Kayfus, Colson Montgomery, Christian Moore, Cam Schlittler, Colby Thomas, Carson Williams, Cole Young, Dylan Beavers, George Valera, Tatsuya Imai, Jac Caglianone, Jhostynxon Garcia, JJ Wetherholt, Jacob Misiorowski, Jonah Tong, Konnor Griffin, Kyle Karros, Kevin McGonigle, Munetaka Murakami, Nolan McLean, Owen Caissie, Otto Kemp, Kazuma Okamoto, Parker Messick, Payton Tolle, Roman Anthony, Samuel Basallo, Sal Stewart, Troy Melton, and Trey Yesavage.

Topps has only teased two autograph parallels for this set so far: Black (/10) and Padparadscha 1/1.

Sapphire Selections Autographs

The product-exclusive Sapphire Selections Autographs set adds 13 cards and mixes rookies and veterans. The checklist includes Alex Freeland, Aaron Judge, Bubba Chandler, Colson Montgomery, Carson Williams, Elly De La Cruz, Harry Ford, Jac Caglianone, Mike Trout, Nick Kurtz, Payton Tolle, Shohei Ohtani, and Sal Stewart.

Because this is a Sapphire Selections subset, it gives collectors another route to chase some of the product’s biggest names in an autograph format.

Hidden Gems Is the Lone Insert

2026 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball includes just one insert set, Hidden Gems. The five-card insert continues a checklist that began in 2026 Bowman Sapphire and remains one of the product’s exclusive chase elements.

The Hidden Gems checklist includes Samuel Basallo, Bobby Witt Jr., Nick Kurtz, Jac Caglianone, and Shohei Ohtani.

Notable Names Across the Base Checklist

The 300-card base set is loaded with recognizable stars and high-profile rookies, making the checklist one of the strongest parts of the release. The front half of the set includes Shohei Ohtani, Cody Bellinger, Yordan Alvarez, Trea Turner, Bobby Witt Jr., Juan Soto, Cal Raleigh, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Tarik Skubal, Jackson Chourio, Dylan Crews, Kyle Tucker, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Aaron Judge, Ronald Acuña Jr., José Ramírez, Junior Caminero, Jackson Holliday, Jackson Merrill, and Paul Skenes.

The back half keeps the star power going with Freddie Freeman, Mike Trout, Gunnar Henderson, Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, Roki Sasaki, Wyatt Langford, Elly De La Cruz, Paul Goldschmidt, Adley Rutschman, Francisco Lindor, Garrett Crochet, and many more. The set also includes a number of rookies and first Sapphire appearances that should draw attention from team collectors and player collectors alike.

Team Set Breakdown Highlights

Topps also released team-by-team checklist breakdowns for collectors who want to track specific clubs. Parallels are not included in the team lists, but the breakdowns make it easier to see which base cards, variations, and autographs are available for each team.

Some of the notable team highlights include:

  • Los Angeles Dodgers - Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Freddie Freeman, Roki Sasaki, Mookie Betts, and Alex Freeland, plus Hidden Gems and Sapphire Selections Autographs for Ohtani and Freeland.
  • New York Yankees - Cody Bellinger, Aaron Judge, Max Fried, Gerrit Cole, Cam Schlittler, and a Sapphire Selections Autograph for Judge.
  • Boston Red Sox - Roman Anthony, Payton Tolle, Garrett Crochet, Kristian Campbell, Jhostynxon Garcia, and Sapphire Autographs for Roman Anthony and Payton Tolle.
  • Kansas City Royals - Bobby Witt Jr., Jac Caglianone, Carter Jensen, Cole Ragans, and Hidden Gems cards for Witt Jr. and Caglianone.
  • San Diego Padres - Jackson Merrill, Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., Michael King, and Mason Miller.
  • Seattle Mariners - Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodríguez, Cole Young, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, and Harry Ford in Sapphire Selections Autographs.
  • Atlanta Braves - Ronald Acuña Jr., Austin Riley, Matt Olson, Drake Baldwin, Chris Sale, and Ozzie Albies.
  • Baltimore Orioles - Samuel Basallo, Jackson Holliday, Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Dylan Beavers, and Sapphire Autographs for Basallo and Beavers.

Other team lists also feature strong rookie and veteran combinations, including the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Washington Nationals.

Parallel Chase Adds to the Sapphire Format

Although Topps has not revealed every parallel in the product, the confirmed numbering gives collectors a clear sense of the chase. Base cards can be found in Gold (/50), Red (/5), and Padparadscha 1/1 versions, while Image Variations have their own expanded parallel ladder that includes Orange (/25) and Black (/10) in addition to the same top-end chase cards.

The autograph sets also carry numbered parallels, with Sapphire Autographs confirmed to include Black (/10) and Padparadscha 1/1. That keeps the product in line with the premium Sapphire style, where scarcity and color variation are part of the appeal.

What Collectors Can Expect From the 2026 Checklist

2026 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball leans heavily on star power, rookie depth, and a compact insert structure. The base checklist reaches across the full flagship Chrome roster, while the Image Variations and autograph sets add another layer of chase value. With Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, Mike Trout, and several of the game’s top rookies spread throughout the product, the checklist gives both team collectors and player collectors plenty to target.

Because the release is online-exclusive and each box delivers just one autograph and three numbered parallels, the product should remain focused on short-print appeal. The Hidden Gems insert set adds a final exclusive chase, but the main attraction remains the 300-card Sapphire version of the 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball checklist.
