The new release is positioned as a chance for players to expand their collections with cards pulled from earlier expansions and new pack treatment options.

The expansion is described as featuring many cards introduced in previous expansions, from Mega Rising to Ruler of the Skies. It will also include reissues of every ♦♦♦♦ card from those expansions, giving players another opportunity to chase cards that may have been missed the first time around.

What Deluxe Pack: Mega Includes

Deluxe Pack: Mega uses four-card packs and guarantees one Pokémon ex in every pack. That makes the expansion especially notable for players looking to add higher-rarity cards to their collections while also revisiting cards from earlier sets.

In addition to the guaranteed Pokémon ex card, the packs can include parallel foil cards or cards with new artwork. The release is being positioned as a collection-focused expansion with a strong emphasis on rare pulls and alternate presentation.

According to the announcement, Deluxe Pack: Mega draws from multiple prior expansions rather than introducing a completely separate card pool. The featured range begins with Mega Rising and extends through Ruler of the Skies.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Update Changes Coming in October 2026

Toward the end of October 2026, Pokémon TCG Pocket will receive a separate update that reworks several in-game features. The changes are intended to improve the player experience, and more details are expected closer to the update.

One of the biggest additions will be a community decks feature. This will let players search for decks made public by other players and build them if they own the required cards.

At the same time, current rental decks will be deleted. However, players will be able to rent decks built from the latest booster packs and use them an unlimited number of times in both solo and versus battles.

Theme deck lists and deck missions will also be discontinued as part of the update.

Step-Up Battles Are Being Reworked

Step-up battles will be replaced with a new solo-battle system that increases in difficulty as players move through the stages. After the update, the current step-up battles will no longer be available, and players will not be able to earn first-time rewards or battle tasks from them.

Release Celebration: Poké Gold Deals Ending

The announcement also notes that Release Celebration: Poké Gold deals will no longer be available when the new series begins. That means players have one last chance to purchase them in-game or through the official web store before the change takes effect.

Events Scheduled Around the Expansion

Several events are planned alongside Deluxe Pack: Mega, giving players additional ways to collect cards and earn rewards.

From late September to early October, a mass outbreak event will add parallel foil cards to rare picks and bonus picks. Event missions will also be available, with shop tickets offered for picking and collecting certain cards.

In mid- to late October, Ranked Match Season B4b SP will award more rank points than usual. The win streak bonus will also be expanded to a maximum of ten consecutive wins. Players will not lose rank points or drop down in rank when defeated, regardless of rank.

Additional events include solo battles that award B Series vol. 13 promo packs during the Mega Garchomp ex Drop Event, along with a wonder pick event featuring Charmander and Drampa cards.
