Upper Deck Moments Brings Real-Time NHL Cards to e-Pack
Upper Deck has introduced Upper Deck Moments, a new on-demand trading card offering that lets collectors chase cards tied directly to NHL action as it happens. Built on the company’s existing e-Pack platform, the concept is designed to bring notable hockey moments into digital collections soon after they occur, with the option to later transfer eligible cards into physical form.
The new release expands Upper Deck’s print-on-demand approach by connecting live NHL highlights with the company’s digital collecting system. Collectors can buy, hold, trade, and eventually redeem cards through e-Pack, giving the product a format that bridges online collecting and traditional card ownership.
First Upper Deck Moments Card Features Evan Bouchard
The first Upper Deck Moments card centers on Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard and his opening-night performance. According to the card copy, Bouchard recorded five points in the first game of the season, including three goals and two assists. The source notes that, through September 29, 2026, no defenseman had ever posted five points in a season opener before Bouchard’s performance.
Upper Deck used that milestone game to debut the new line, making the Bouchard card the inaugural release in the Moments program. The card is presented as a base card and is part of the 2026-27 Upper Deck Moments NHL release dated 09.29.2026.
How the e-Pack Release Works
The base card version of 2026-27 Upper Deck Moments NHL 09.29.2026 Evan Bouchard is being sold through Upper Deck’s e-Pack site for $6.99 per pack, according to the company’s press release. Each pack guarantees the selected card and also includes a chance at a chase card.
Upper Deck says collectors can also receive additional bonus cards later on. Those bonus cards will be randomly distributed to e-Pack users at a later date, rather than appearing in every pack at the time of purchase.
As with other e-Pack products, collectors can keep the cards in their digital account or exchange eligible cards for physical copies to be mailed to them. The format allows users to trade cards with other collectors worldwide while keeping the collection stored online until they decide to redeem it.
Gold Parallel and Other Chase Elements
Upper Deck has also identified a Gold Parallel as part of the Moments release. The Gold Parallel is listed as a chase card and is found in one in every 10 packs. Collectors opening packs online through e-Pack will have a chance to pull it alongside the base card.

In addition to the Gold Parallel, Upper Deck says more bonus cards will be added later through random distribution to e-Pack users. The company has not released a full public checklist in the source material, but it did confirm one of the later additions will be a 1-of-1 Black Auto Parallel.
Black Auto 1-of-1 Adds a Premium Autograph Chase
Among the bonus cards highlighted by Upper Deck is the 2026-27 Upper Deck Moments Black Auto Parallel 1-of-1 featuring Evan Bouchard. The card is described as a first-of-its-kind release for the product and includes a blue ink autograph with gold colored 1 of 1 writing.
The Black Auto 1-of-1 is not part of the initial guaranteed pack contents. Instead, Upper Deck says it will be randomly distributed to e-Pack users at a later point in time, making it a surprise hit for whichever collectors receive it.
Upper Deck Expands Moments Beyond NHL
Upper Deck says the Moments concept is built to make collecting specific players and game-changing events easier throughout the NHL season. By tying the cards to live action and delivering them through e-Pack, the company is creating a product that can move quickly from the ice to a collector’s digital shelf.
The company also said Upper Deck Moments will come to the PWHL during the upcoming season. In addition, Upper Deck indicated it plans to extend the same style of offering to its entertainment and popular culture partnerships.
For collectors, the launch adds another layer to Upper Deck’s digital collecting ecosystem, with live-event cards, chase parallels, and eventual physical redemption all part of the same platform.
