Topps Sets October 5 Pre-Orders for Three New Releases

Topps Pre-Orders Set for October 5

Collectors have three new Topps releases to watch on Monday, October 5, with pre-orders scheduled across football and baseball on the Topps website. The lineup includes 2026 Bowman U Best Football, 2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball and 2026 Topps Inception Football.

Each product brings a different type of chase to the hobby, from collegiate football autographs to a popular baseball chrome release and the return of Inception branding with an NFL license. Pricing was not yet announced in the source, but each product has a scheduled pre-order time.

2026 Bowman U Best Football Opens the Day

2026 Bowman U Best Football is first on the schedule, with pre-orders beginning at 11 AM EST. The product is built entirely around collegiate cards, continuing the Bowman U theme seen in previous years.

One of the biggest selling points for the release is the autograph volume. The source notes that collectors can expect four autographs per box on average, which gives the product added appeal for those following the football prospect market. Several top collegiate names are mentioned as part of the release, including Jared Curtis and Bryce Underwood.

The article also notes that a price has not yet been confirmed, though a range of $200 to $300 per box is expected for collectors considering a pre-order.

Best of the Best Case Hit

Among the cards to watch is Best of the Best, a case-hit insert described as featuring a stained-glass design with the player front and center. The card is positioned as one of the standout collegiate inserts in the product and should be a major chase for collectors once boxes arrive.

2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball Returns as a Fan Favorite

At 12 PM EST, Topps will open pre-orders for 2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball. The release has developed into a favorite among baseball collectors thanks to its distinctive design and its chase elements, and the 2026 edition is expected to draw strong interest as well.

The source says boxes are expected to land in the $400 to $500 range at pre-order, with rookie autographs helping drive demand. Jacob Misiorowski is specifically mentioned among the players generating interest.

Planetary Pursuit Insert Chase

One of the signature attractions in Cosmic Chrome Baseball is the Planetary Pursuit insert set. The insert varies in rarity depending on the featured planet, creating a layered chase for collectors who try to assemble a full player run across the different planetary versions.

That concept has helped make the set one of the more recognizable modern baseball releases, and the 2026 version is expected to continue that collecting angle.

2026 Topps Inception Football Brings the Brand Back to the NFL

The final pre-order of the day is 2026 Topps Inception Football, which is scheduled for 1 PM EST. The release marks the return of the Inception brand to licensed NFL cards after more than 10 years, giving the product added significance for football collectors.

The source says the 2026 rookie class is adding to the anticipation around the release, and that pre-orders are expected to move quickly. Dual autographs will be part of the checklist, including combinations of rookies and stars.

The cards will use a thicker stock, consistent with prior Inception releases. A price was not yet known at the time of the article.

Names Mentioned in the Early Checklist Coverage

The source highlights a Carson Beck and Jeremiyah Love dual autograph as one of the cards to watch. It also points to Fernando Mendoza as a player collectors will be tracking, with interest tied to his future and whether he will see the field this year.

That combination of rookie attention, autograph content and the return of a familiar brand gives the product a notable place in the October 5 pre-order schedule.

What Collectors Should Watch Monday

With three releases set to go live on the same day, Monday offers a packed schedule for collectors following both football and baseball. Bowman U Best Football starts the day at 11 AM EST, Cosmic Chrome Baseball follows at 12 PM EST and Inception Football closes the slate at 1 PM EST.

The common thread across all three products is chase appeal. Bowman U Best Football leans on collegiate autographs and the Best of the Best case hit, Cosmic Chrome Baseball brings back its Planetary Pursuit insert and rookie autograph interest, and Inception Football returns a licensed NFL brand with dual autographs and thicker card stock.

For collectors monitoring upcoming Topps releases, the October 5 pre-order window will be one to watch closely.
