PSA Reopens Value Service Tier After Months of Suspension

PSA is bringing back its Value Service Tier after pausing the lower-priced option earlier this year. The company also announced updated turnaround estimates for its Priority and Standard service levels, with both tiers seeing a 20-business-day reduction in estimated wait times.

The changes follow PSA’s recent service-level restructuring, which included the introduction of the Standard Service Tier last month. According to PSA, the latest update is part of a phased approach to reopening service levels while the company continues to work through existing orders and refine its turnaround estimates.

Ryan Hoge, President of PSA and Grading at Collectors, said the pause allowed the company to evaluate and streamline its offerings while building toward faster options for customers who need expedited service and, now, the return of Value submissions.

New Turnaround Times For Priority And Standard

PSA is lowering its estimated turnaround times for Priority and Standard orders submitted beginning October 28 at 8 am PT.

  • Standard: 70 to 80 business days
  • Priority: 50 to 60 business days

PSA said orders already in progress will be graded under the terms in place when they were submitted, though they may benefit from increased processing speed.

The turnaround estimate changes are intended to reflect the company’s increased capacity and its effort to provide more accurate delivery windows as volume continues to shift.

Value Service Tier Returns October 29

The Value Service Tier will reopen Thursday, October 29 at 8 am PT across PSA’s U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan operations.

In the U.S., Value is priced at $39.99 with a maximum insured value of $500 and an estimated turnaround time of 90 to 100 business days. In Japan, the estimated turnaround is 120 business days.

PSA said new Value orders will be processed after the orders currently in the system, and reopening the tier will not change delivery estimates for customers who already have submissions at PSA.

The company described the return of Value as part of a phased reopening strategy designed to recalibrate service levels to demand.

PSA Says Output Has Increased Sharply

Along with the service updates, PSA said graded item output is up nearly 50 percent in 2026, helped by investments in capacity. The company also said output is up 150 percent compared to the 2020 to 2025 average items graded per week.

PSA added that it is operating at a larger scale than at any point in its history. The company said the number of items it has graded over the past three years, 59 million, exceeds the total graded in the 23 years before that, which PSA said was 57 million.

Backlog Continues To Move Toward PSA’s Target

PSA said its current backlog stands at 7.2 million units and is moving toward the company’s established estimate of 5 million units. Reaching that level would allow PSA to fully reopen the Value Bulk Tier in a way similar to the Standard and Value tiers.

For collectors, the latest update means lower-priced grading is returning while PSA continues to shorten wait times on its higher service levels. The new estimates and reopening schedule mark another step in the company’s effort to balance demand, capacity, and turnaround accuracy across its grading operations.
