Mega Chandelure Debuts in Super Mega Raids

Pokémon GO is bringing Mega Chandelure into the spotlight for Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The event runs from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time and marks Mega Chandelure’s debut in Super Mega Raids.

During the event, players may also encounter a Shiny Mega Chandelure if they are lucky. The Halloween timing fits the Ghost-type theme, giving Trainers a chance to battle a fittingly spooky Mega Evolution during the limited event window.

Super Mega Raids add an extra layer of difficulty compared to standard raids. The opposing Mega-Evolved Pokémon can become enraged and put up shields, so players will need to coordinate with teammates and use their own Mega-Evolved Pokémon to break through those defenses.

How Super Mega Raids Work During the Event

Niantic says Trainers can use the map to find where Super Mega Raids may appear during the event period. Players can also filter the map or check nearby events to look for community meetups in advance.

For players who have not attended a meetup before, the event is positioned as a chance to connect with local Trainers and improve the odds of success in battle. Since Super Mega Raids can be more demanding than typical raid encounters, group coordination should matter more than ever during the three-hour event.

Mega Chandelure Reaches Super Max Level

The event also introduces a new progression milestone for Mega Chandelure. For the first time, Trainers will be able to raise its Mega Level all the way to Super Max Level.

According to the event details, Pokémon eligible for Super Max Level can learn an additional Charged Attack while Mega Evolved. For Chandelure, that means access to Ominous Wind+ when Mega Evolved, with the attack’s power increasing as Chandelure’s Mega Level rises.

This feature was first discovered during Mega Finale, and its arrival here gives Mega Chandelure a new role in battle for players who invest in its Mega progression.

Global Challenge Rewards Add More Incentive

A Global Challenge will run alongside the event in celebration of Mega Chandelure. Trainers around the world will work together by completing Raid Battles to unlock as many tiers of the challenge as possible.

The challenge runs from Friday, October 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. PDT. The more tiers the community completes, the greater the bonus reward for Mega Chandelure.

For Mega Chandelure at the first Mega Level or higher, Ominous Wind+ will receive a base power boost. That boost does not apply in the GO Battle League. Mega Chandelure at Super Max Level will also have its CP boosted.

Event Bonuses for All Trainers

Several event bonuses will be active during the Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day window. The Remote Raid limit will increase to 20 from Friday, October 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.

Trainers can also receive up to six free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs. In addition, Chandelure caught from Super Mega Raids will have Mega Level 1 unlocked.

The event also features an increased chance of encountering Shiny Chandelure from Super Mega Raids, giving collectors an added reason to jump into raids throughout the afternoon.

Paid Ticket Bonuses and Timed Research

For US$4.99, or the equivalent pricing tier in local currency, Trainers can buy an event ticket from the web store or in-game shop to unlock additional bonuses.

Ticket holders can receive up to 14 Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs. They will also have an increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles, along with +5,000 XP and +5,000 Stardust from Super Mega Raid Battles.

Timed Research will be available to all Trainers during the event. Completing the research tasks rewards a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with Tyranitar.

What Trainers Can Expect on Halloween

With Mega Chandelure making its debut, Super Mega Raids bringing shield mechanics and enraged bosses, and a Global Challenge adding community-wide goals, Pokémon GO’s Halloween raid event is built around one of the game’s most thematic raid days of the year.

Between the free Raid Passes, the ticketed bonuses, and the chance to unlock Super Max Level for Mega Chandelure, Trainers have multiple reasons to plan ahead before the event begins.
