Ohtani Leads Fanatics Collect Auction at $1.14 Million

The latest Fanatics Collect Auction delivered another major result for modern baseball cards, with the 1-of-1 autographed 2025 Topps Dynasty Gold Logoman Shohei Ohtani card selling for $1,140,000.

The card carried a grade of 9 with a 10 autograph rating and drew 29 bids before the hammer fell. Even with recent injury issues, demand for Ohtani remains strong. The Dynasty Gold Logoman marked the fifth Ohtani card to sell for more than $1 million this year.

The second-highest sale of the auction was another high-end baseball piece tied to a current superstar. A redemption card for the 1-of-1 2026 Topps Chrome Back-to-Back MVP Award Aaron Judge Dual Gold Logoman Patch Auto sold for $900,000.

Michael Jordan Cards Deliver Multiple Record Sales

Basketball cards also took center stage, with Michael Jordan collecting several of the night’s biggest results. A 1984-85 Star #101 Jordan XRC PSA 8 set a public-sale record for the red-bordered issue at $504,000.

An autographed 1986-87 Fleer rookie card graded PSA 8 with a 10 autograph rating brought $516,000. The card is one of eight signed Jordan rookies on the PSA Registry, with 14 carrying higher grades. By comparison, unsigned PSA 8 Jordan rookie cards have been selling in the neighborhood of $20,000, showing how much value the autograph adds to the card.

An unsigned PSA 10 1986-87 Fleer Jordan rookie also reached $504,000, the highest public sale for a Gem Mint Jordan rookie since January 2022. That result topped the previous record of $469,700 set in a Goldin auction two months earlier.

Another notable Jordan item was a 2008 Exquisite Collection Inscriptions card numbered to 10 featuring autographs of Jordan and Kobe Bryant. That card sold for $408,000.

LeBron, Kobe and Mantle Join the High-End Action

Among current players, no basketball card surpassed the $588,000 sale of a BGS 9 2003 Exquisite Collection Number Pieces LeBron James Rookie Patch Autograph numbered to 23.

The auction also produced a strong result for Mickey Mantle. A PSA 6 1952 Topps Mantle, despite a slight diamond cut, established a new level when it sold for $690,000.

Other top basketball and baseball results included a 2012 Panini Flawless Greats Dual Emerald Kobe Bryant Patch Auto numbered to 5, graded BGS 9.5, which sold for $480,000.

Several Shohei Ohtani cards continued the strong showing for the Dodgers star. A 2026 Topps Chrome MVP Award Gold MLB Logoman Patch Shohei Ohtani numbered to 4, listed as an unscratched redemption, sold for $432,000. A 2026 Bowman Anime Superfractor Shohei Ohtani 1/1, card #BA-26, graded PSA 9, also sold for $432,000.

Additional high-end basketball and baseball cards included a 1998 Upper Deck Game Jersey Gold Michael Jordan Patch Auto numbered to 23, graded BGS 9, at $408,000; a 2006 Exquisite Collection Number Pieces Michael Jordan-LeBron James Patch Auto numbered to 23, graded PSA 5 with DNA 10, at $348,000; a 2003 Exquisite Collection Limited Logos Kobe Bryant Patch Auto numbered to 75, graded BGS 8.5, at $324,000; a 2018 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor Shohei Ohtani Rookie Auto numbered to 50, graded PSA 10 with DNA 10, at $324,000; and a 2008 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor LeBron James numbered to 50, card #23, graded PSA 10, at $324,000.

More Than 30 Cards Clear the $200,000 Mark

In all, 34 cards sold for more than $200,000, underscoring the continued strength of the high-end market for stars across baseball and basketball.

The results also highlighted the range of premium card types that continue to attract major bidding, from 1-of-1 Logoman autos and Exquisite patch autographs to vintage rookies and rare serial-numbered parallels. With Ohtani, Jordan, LeBron, Kobe and Mantle all landing major sales, the auction once again showed how elite cards from different eras can command top-tier prices when they surface in public sale.

For collectors tracking the highest-end segment of the hobby, the auction added another round of benchmark prices across multiple eras and sports, with Ohtani leading the way and Jordan cards providing some of the night’s most notable records.
