Metagross Returns to 7-Star Tera Raid Battles in Scarlet and Violet

Metagross Returns to Black Tera Raid Crystals

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet players will get another chance to battle Steel Tera Type Metagross in 7-star Tera Raid Battles. The event runs at black Tera Raid crystals from Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT through Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

The featured Metagross has Steel as its Tera Type and comes with the Mightiest Mark. Trainers can face it at black Tera Raid crystals during the event window, making this a limited-time return for one of the game’s most formidable raid opponents.

How To Access The Event Raid

To find the featured Tera Raid Battle, Trainers need to make sure they have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. The game directs players to open the X menu, select Mystery Gift, and then choose Check Poké Portal News.

Once the news has been updated, sparkling pillars of light at Tera Raid crystals can be interacted with to begin a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon. The event Metagross will appear at black Tera Raid crystals during the scheduled period.

Raid Requirements And Catch Limits

Trainers must either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has already completed those events. That requirement applies to challenging Steel Tera Type Metagross with the Mightiest Mark.

This special Metagross can be caught only once per save data. Even after it has been caught, Trainers can continue taking part in battles against it for rewards.

Rewards For Repeated Battles

Players who have already caught the event Metagross can still join additional raids to earn other rewards. The event can provide significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up Pokémon, treasures that can be sold at Pokémon Centers, items for improving Pokémon stats, and Steel Tera Shards for changing a Pokémon’s Tera Type.

That makes the raid useful even after the one-time capture, especially for Trainers looking to stock up on battle resources and Tera Type materials.
