Lids Brings Collector-Focused Releases to Fanatics Fest 2026

Lids is using Fanatics Fest 2026 to spotlight a growing part of its business: products built with collectors in mind. The company is lining up a slate of event-first releases for the July 16-19 show in New York City, combining licensed headwear, limited-edition collectibles, and streetwear in a way that reflects how the hobby and sports culture continue to overlap.

The Fanatics Fest schedule gives Lids a high-profile stage for a mix of exclusive products and brand collaborations. According to Adam Herstig, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Partnerships at Lids, the company has spent the last few years expanding beyond traditional headwear to offer more exclusive items for collectors.

“Over the last few years, it became clear that we could bring collectors into our stores in a much bigger way, giving them more exclusive items,” Herstig said.

That shift has helped shape Lids’ approach to shop-in-shop concepts and partnerships with companies including Topps, DICK’S Sporting Goods, and MJ Holdings. The result is a broader retail strategy that positions Lids as a destination for hats, collectibles, and lifestyle products rather than only team caps.

WWE Mystery Box Debuts Exclusively at Fanatics Fest NYC

One of the most notable releases in the lineup is the WWE Mystery Box, which will debut exclusively at Fanatics Fest NYC. Each limited box includes exclusive WWE-inspired Lids headwear, a collectible Ghostwrite figure, and surprise chase prizes.

The box is priced at $200 and includes guaranteed limited-edition items, chances to chase rare collectibles, tickets to WWE Premium Live Events, and other prizes. Lids says the format is designed so that every box delivers something meaningful, even if the biggest chase item is not pulled.

“Everyone walks away with something. We wanted every box to feel rewarding, even if you don't pull the biggest chase,” Herstig said.

Ghostwrite, the collectible art-figure maker involved in the project, was part of the planning process from the beginning. Lids said the collaboration was built around the same chase-driven appeal that trading card and bling-box collectors already know well.

WWE Superstars Liv Morgan, Randy Orton, Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, and LA Knight are also scheduled to visit the Lids booth during the weekend for live unboxings.

For collectors attending the event, the WWE Mystery Box blends several familiar hobby elements in one package: limited release, chase-driven contents, and the possibility of trading with other fans on site.

John Geiger Brings Misplaced MLB Series to the Show

Lids is also using Fanatics Fest NYC to preview a collaboration with sneaker and streetwear designer John Geiger. Geiger will debut his Misplaced MLB Series at the event before the collection’s nationwide release.

The series draws from Geiger’s well-known Misplaced Checks designs, which reimagined the placement of Nike’s Swoosh and helped establish his name in sneaker culture. The new MLB-themed project extends that creative approach into baseball-inspired apparel and headwear.

Herstig said collaborations like this work best when they connect with multiple audiences at once. For Lids, that means creating products that appeal not only to sports fans, but also to sneaker collectors, streetwear followers, and pop culture consumers.

The Misplaced MLB Series fits that model by pairing recognizable baseball branding with a designer whose work already carries a strong following in adjacent collector communities.

Chase B Debuts Maximal 2.0 at Fanatics Fest NYC

Another event-first release comes from DJ and producer Chase B, who will debut his Maximal 2.0 collection at Fanatics Fest NYC before it reaches a wider audience.

Chase B is best known as Travis Scott’s longtime DJ and creative collaborator, and his work has made him a familiar name at the intersection of music, fashion, and streetwear. That background makes him a natural fit for Lids’ growing collaboration strategy.

Like the John Geiger project, the Chase B collection underscores how Lids is broadening its reach beyond standard team merchandise. The company is leaning into collaborations that carry cultural relevance and collector appeal, especially when the creator already has a strong relationship with the brand and its audience.

Herstig said authenticity is a major part of how Lids evaluates partnerships.

“We start with, 'Are they genuine hat wearers? And are they genuine fans of Lids?'” Herstig said. “John Geiger and Chase B are as authentic as it gets. They have a long history with the brand. They're just fans, and they're so passionate about the culture.”

Lids Sees Collectibles, Headwear, and Streetwear Converging

The Fanatics Fest releases reflect a larger change in how Lids views its role in sports culture. Instead of treating merchandise, collectibles, and streetwear as separate categories, the company sees an opportunity to bring them together in the same retail environment.

Herstig said that intersection is already visible in Lids stores, where customers may now combine Topps trading cards, limited-edition hats, patches, pins, and team jerseys in a single visit.

“There's now an intersection that's happening at our stores,” Herstig said. “A customer’s purchase can now include Topps trading cards, limited-edition hats, patches and pins, and their favorite team’s jerseys.”

That broader mix gives Lids a way to serve different kinds of fans without separating them into rigid product lanes. A customer who comes in for a hat may also be looking for a collectible, while a collector may be drawn in by a collaboration tied to music, fashion, or wrestling.

For Lids, Fanatics Fest 2026 is a chance to show how those audiences overlap. The event-first releases are designed to meet collectors where they already are, whether that means a mystery box built around WWE, a designer-driven MLB project, or a streetwear collection tied to a familiar name in music culture.

Why Fanatics Fest Matters for Lids

Fanatics Fest has become a natural setting for brands that want to connect with collectors in person, and Lids is using the event to highlight how far its product mix has expanded. The company’s approach now reaches beyond standard retail staples and into limited releases that borrow from the language of the hobby, including exclusivity, chase items, and collaboration-driven drops.

Herstig said the momentum behind that strategy is still building.

“It's moving at an exciting pace,” he said. “I really don't think that it's even close to a saturation point. I think there's still so much that can be done there we're excited about what the future holds for collectors.”

For fans attending Fanatics Fest 2026, Lids’ presence will offer a clear snapshot of where the brand is headed. The company is not only selling hats, but also building around the collector mindset that now shapes so much of sports, fashion, and pop culture retail.

That means the booth will likely draw interest from WWE fans, sneaker collectors, streetwear followers, and traditional sports fans alike, all looking for products that feel exclusive to the moment.

With the WWE Mystery Box, the Misplaced MLB Series, and Chase B’s Maximal 2.0 collection all tied to the event, Lids is making Fanatics Fest 2026 part showcase and part proving ground for its collector-first direction.

For the brand, the message is simple: the modern fan may still start with a hat, but the experience can now extend well beyond it.
