Disney, NFL, Champion and Fanatics Complete First-Ever Team Character Draft

A new crossover project from Disney, the NFL, Champion and Fanatics has now revealed all 32 team-character pairings in the Disney, Champion, NFL Collection. The collaboration was introduced at Fanatics Fest with a draft-style event that paired Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters with each NFL team based on team identity, traditions and fan culture.

The announcement brought together Roger Goodell and Taylor Rooks as hosts, with current and former NFL players helping select characters for the teams. During Fanatics Fest, nine pairings were first unveiled, including Tom Brady and Fernando Mendoza selecting Darth Vader for the Las Vegas Raiders. The remaining picks have now been released, completing the full lineup.

According to Bret Healey, Director of Graphic Design for Disney Consumer Products, the pairings were designed to reflect the shared traits and stories behind each fandom. In his words, the goal was to create combinations inspired by the qualities, traditions and fan culture that define each NFL team, while also celebrating the personalities of beloved Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

How The Disney NFL Draft Was Framed

The collaboration was presented as a storytelling-driven project rather than a traditional product announcement. Each team-character pairing was chosen to connect with a franchise's identity, whether that meant strength, loyalty, speed, mystique, toughness or long-standing tradition.

The result is a set of matchups that spans the full Disney universe, including classic animated characters, Pixar favorites, Marvel heroes and villains, and Star Wars icons. The release also reflects the growing presence of Disney across the hobby, with the company continuing to make larger plays in sports and collectibles.

AFC East Pairings
