Disney Lorcana Attack of the Vine! Set Details
Attack of the Vine! is the 13th main set for the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game, and it pushes the long-running Vine storyline to its peak. The set first reached local game stores for prerelease weekend on July 17, 2026, before its wide retail release on July 24, 2026.
The storyline has been building through earlier sets, with the strange thorny growth appearing in the background of Whispers in the Well, Winterspell, and Wilds Unknown. In Attack of the Vine!, that threat moves to the foreground. The Vine is described as a Lorcana native entity that has been feeding on flood ink spilled across earlier sets, growing out of control as it climbs into the sky and burrows beneath the surface.
To defend itself and keep spreading, the Vine captures glimmers and creates leafy duplicates of familiar characters called Vinelings. Those plant touched copies resemble characters players already know, but they answer only to the Vine. The Illumineers must gather allies, dig to the root of the infestation, and stop it before it swallows the realm.
Cinemayhem Art Direction Shapes the Release
Ravensburger gives the set a distinct visual identity with what it calls Cinemayhem, a deliberate 1950s B movie style. The artwork leans into comic book title lettering, lurid poster framing, and a monster movie color palette. That approach gives the release a vintage sci-fi and horror feel while still fitting Disney's cast of characters.
The result is one of the most recognizable art directions the game has used so far. The theme is especially visible in the Vine storyline cards and in the way familiar characters are reimagined through the set's monster movie lens.
Pixar Expands Again in Attack of the Vine!
Attack of the Vine! continues the Pixar expansion that began in Wilds Unknown. Three franchises make their Disney Lorcana debut in the set: Monsters, Inc., Up, and Turning Red.
Monsters, Inc. brings Sulley, Mike Wazowski, and Boo into the game, which fits naturally with a set centered on scares and strange transformations. Turning Red introduces Mei Lee and her family, along with the new Red Panda classification. Up rounds out the new arrivals and adds more Pixar representation to the growing Lorcana roster.
Longtime Disney favorites also appear throughout the set, including characters from the Hundred Acre Wood, the Parr family, and many others. The checklist shows a wide mix of classic characters, new team ups, and Vine touched versions of familiar faces.
New Shift Variants and Classifications
One of the biggest gameplay stories in Attack of the Vine! is the introduction of four new Shift variants. These expand one of Lorcana's signature mechanics in different directions.
- Duo Shift lets a dual named character shift on top of two separate characters at once, one for each half of the name, as seen on Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse - Adventuring Duo.
- Combo Shift combines standard Shift and Duo Shift, allowing a card such as Sulley & Boo - Scare Buddies to land on either one matching character or two at once.
- Temporary Shift debuts with Meilin Lee - Popular Red Panda and allows a character to shift in for a turn, then bounce back to hand with all damage removed.
- Potato Shift lets Posey - Vampire Potato climb on top of an item named Potato.
The set also adds several new classifications, including Team for the growing number of dual named characters, Red Panda for the Turning Red cards, Boss, and Vineling for the Vine's leafy copies.
Morph returns as well, and its Advanced Mimicry ability allows any character to shift on top of it regardless of name. That gives players another flexible tool for building around Shift focused strategies.
Christopher Robin - Hunny Sage is one of the most talked about cards in the set. Its Gather the Party ability lets players run Hunny characters of any ink type in their deck, which is a notable first for Lorcana constructed play and opens up new deckbuilding options.
Collector Highlights and Secret Rarities
Attack of the Vine! is the first Lorcana set to move beyond the traditional 204 card main set ceiling. The numbered main set reaches 207 cards, and the release also includes a secret rarity range beyond that total.
The secret rarity lineup includes 18 Epic cards, 18 full art Enchanted cards, and 2 Ultra Rare Iconic cards. The Iconic cards are described as featuring alternate artwork, a specialized foil treatment, and a 3D hot stamp.
Collectors will have plenty to chase across the checklist. Standout cards include Sulley & Boo - Scare Buddies, Dash Parr & Violet Parr - Super Siblings, Boo - Energetic Child, Belle & Beast - Certain as the Sun, and other marquee character cards that are likely to draw attention from set builders and collectors alike.
Disney parks and stores are also releasing their own launch window exclusives, which may matter for collectors aiming to complete a full master set.

The checklist also includes cards such as Meilin Lee - Popular Red Panda, Meilin Lee - Giant Red Panda, Ming Lee - Giant Red Panda, and Sun Yee - Red Panda Spirit, showing how deeply the set leans into the new classification.
Monsters, Inc. cards are another major presence, with entries such as Mike Wazowski - Heroic Climber, Sulley - The New Boss, Sulley - Protective Monster, Boo - Energetic Child, Boo - Human Child, and Henry J. Waternoose III - Chief Executive Officer. The checklist also includes Randall Boggs, Roz, and other familiar faces from the franchise.

Because the checklist is extensive and includes both foil and non foil versions across the main set, collectors will have a large number of cards to track as the release enters the market.
Release Timing and Availability
Attack of the Vine! released first through local game store prerelease events on July 17, 2026, then reached wide retail on July 24, 2026. That staggered rollout gives players an early look at the set before the broader market release.
With new Shift mechanics, Pixar debuts, secret rarities, and a storyline centered on the Vine's takeover, Attack of the Vine! stands out as one of the most ambitious Disney Lorcana releases to date.
