Four WNBA teams remain in the chase for the Finals

The WNBA playoffs have reached the final four, and even with several of the hobby's biggest names already eliminated, collectors still have plenty to follow as the postseason continues. The field is down to Atlanta, New York, Golden State, and Las Vegas, with two spots in the WNBA Finals on the line. The Finals are scheduled to begin Oct. 17.

Some of the league's most recognizable young stars have already exited the bracket. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were eliminated after Clark became the first player in WNBA history to record at least 25 points and 15 assists in a game. Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings also bowed out, while Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty delivered a historic upset of Napheesa Collier and the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx.

Even with those names gone, the remaining teams still feature players with strong hobby followings, rising postseason value, and cards that continue to attract attention.

Atlanta Dream: Angel Reese

Angel Reese entered the WNBA in 2024 alongside Caitlin Clark and has quickly become one of the league's most recognizable young stars. Her rookie season and early professional success have already made her a major collecting name, and this year added another milestone when she won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Reese led the league with 12.1 rebounds per game and set a WNBA record with 521 total rebounds. That production has only strengthened her profile as one of the most important players in the league's new generation.

Atlanta swept Washington in the opening round, and Reese played a major role by averaging 9.5 rebounds and two blocks in the series. With several other young stars already out of the bracket, she remains one of the most prominent players still chasing a championship.

New York Liberty: Sabrina Ionescu

Sabrina Ionescu has long been one of the WNBA's strongest crossover collecting names. Her standout college career at Oregon, her signature Nike line, and her success with the Liberty have made her one of the most recognizable players in women's basketball.

Her playoff run has kept New York in the title conversation. In Game 1 of the semifinals against Atlanta, Ionescu scored a team-high 27 points and helped pull the Liberty back from a 16-point deficit before the Dream finished the game strong.

Ionescu's appeal in the hobby comes from both her on-court production and her broader visibility. A second WNBA championship would add another major chapter to a career that already carries significant collecting interest.

Golden State Valkyries: Gabby Williams

Few players have improved their collecting story more during these playoffs than Gabby Williams. Already established as an international standout, Williams has built an impressive résumé that includes silver medals with France at the 2024 Paris Olympics and at the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, where she averaged 18.7 points per game while captaining the national team.

Williams has carried that momentum into the postseason with Golden State. She scored 19 points in the Valkyries' first playoff series-clinching win, then followed with a breakout performance in Game 1 of the semifinals against Las Vegas. In that upset, Williams posted 25 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists as Golden State stunned the defending champions.

A Finals appearance would give Williams even more visibility and could further establish her as one of the defining players for the young franchise.

Las Vegas Aces: A'ja Wilson

If there is one player remaining who feels impossible to overlook for collectors, it is A'ja Wilson. She is already one of the most decorated players in WNBA history, with multiple MVP awards, championships, Finals MVP honors, and Olympic gold medals on her résumé.

Wilson's collecting appeal is different from that of the younger players still in the bracket. With her, the focus is not on projecting future potential. It is about collecting one of the greatest players of her generation while she continues to build on an already historic career.

Even after the Aces were pushed into a difficult semifinal position, Wilson remains a centerpiece of the playoff race and one of the most important names in the sport for both fans and collectors.

Why these playoff names matter to collectors

The WNBA postseason often sharpens the hobby spotlight, and this year's final four gives collectors a mix of established stars, rising talents, and players whose cards have already shown strong market interest. Reese brings the appeal of a young defensive force with record-setting rebounding numbers. Ionescu remains one of the league's most recognizable names and a proven hobby draw. Williams is building a stronger postseason profile with every big performance. Wilson continues to stand at the center of the league's modern greats.

With the Finals set to begin Oct. 17, the next round of games could shape not only the championship picture but also the collecting conversation around each of these players. Strong playoff runs often add another layer to a player's card market, and all four remaining teams still have stars capable of making that happen.
