2026 Panini Sonic The Hedgehog Trading Cards Announced
Panini is bringing Sonic the Hedgehog back to the trading card market with a new chromium release for 2026. The product is built around the long-running Sega character and is expected to feature many of the insert styles collectors have come to know from Panini’s sports card releases.
At this stage, full box configuration details have not been revealed, but hobby, hobby preferred, and retail formats are expected to be part of the lineup. Release timing is also still to be determined.
2026 Panini Sonic The Hedgehog Checklist Overview
The base set is expected to mix classic and modern character artwork, giving collectors a look at Sonic’s evolution from his early days on the Sega Genesis in 1991 to the more recent version seen across the character’s multi-film franchise. The checklist also extends beyond Sonic himself, with additional allies and villains included throughout the set.
Panini’s parallel lineup includes Tie-Dye Prizms and Black Finite Prizms, with Black Finite numbered one of one.
Insert Sets Featured In The Product
The insert lineup includes Kawaii, Negative Space, and Eggman Empire. The Eggman Empire inserts shift attention to Dr. Eggman and some of his creations, adding a villain-focused element to the product.
Two of the tougher chase cards in the set are Color Blast and Kaboom, both of which have become familiar names to collectors across Panini’s sports card portfolio.
