2025 Topps T205 Baseball

2025 Topps T205 Baseball takes collectors back more than 100 years with a set inspired by one the most popular and attractive tobacco sets from the early 1900s. Single boxes include 32 total cards, including eight parallels or inserts. Autographs fall once every four boxes. Collectors can also purchase a carton, which contains four single boxes and guarantees one autograph. A revival of the timeless 1911 T205 Gold Border set, Topps T205 is a slight shift from the company, which had produced sets mimicking the 1909-11 T206 tobacco cards every year since 2020. Topps had previously released Topps T205 as standard-sized cards in 2003, but this release will measure the same size as original tobacco cards – approximately 1 7/16 inches by 2 5/8 inches. The 300-card base set includes a mixture of current stars, rookies, retired stars, and Hall of Famers, and collectors will find a variety of card backs and variations – a tribute to the original set. Tobacco cards from the early 1900s were often distributed through subsidiaries of the American Tobacco Company, and the backs had advertisements for specific brands. Topps uses that model for its Topps T205 parallels, which include many of the original brands found on the backs of 1911 T205 cards: Photo variations were also common in early tobacco issues, and Topps stays true to history in its T205 rebrand. Most notably, Topps has created “No Cap” variations, a nod to the 1911 T205 Bobby Wallace “No Cap” card, one of the most popular and valuable variations from the original set.
