Product Overview

2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball

The 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball release brings Topps’ first fully licensed, standalone Chrome NBA product since 2008-09, offering a chromium upgrade to the flagship basketball line and a wide mix of formats and parallels.

What to Expect

Topps Chrome Basketball is positioned as a premium, chrome-finished version of the 2025-26 Topps basketball flagship set. The base checklist is slated for 299 cards and includes a mix of current stars, incoming rookies, and all-time greats. Collectors can expect a strong emphasis on parallels and refractors throughout the release.

Box Types and Configuration

The product will be available in a broad range of box styles designed for different collecting approaches and budgets. Planned configurations include:

  • Hobby boxes – each box is slated to deliver one autograph.
  • Jumbo boxes – each box is expected to contain three autographs.
  • Retail and specialty formats – mega, Fanatics mega, blaster, hanger, Breaker’s Delight, and First Day Issue boxes.

In addition to sealed boxes, Topps will also produce a complete factory set as well as a Sapphire edition of 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball, giving set builders and premium collectors more options.

Refractors and Parallels

The 299-card base set is heavily parallel-driven, with more than four dozen different versions planned. Traditional Refractors return alongside some of the brand’s most sought-after low-numbered Chrome parallels, including:

  • Frozenfractors, numbered to 5 copies.
  • Superfractors, each a 1-of-1.

Additional Refractor parallels span a wide range of colors and print runs, including:

  • Prism and Negative Refractors.
  • Magenta (/399), Teal (/299), Yellow (/275), Aqua (/199).
  • Blue (/150), Green (/99), Purple (/75).
  • Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Black (/10), Red (/5).

Wave-style Refractors also appear, adding another layer of chase:

  • Wave (unnumbered or standard wave pattern).
  • Blue Wave (/150), Green Wave (/99), Purple Wave (/75).
  • Gold Wave (/50), Orange Wave (/25), Black Wave (/10), Red Wave (/5).

Format-Exclusive Parallels

Several parallel styles are tied to specific box types, encouraging collectors to explore different configurations:

  • Pulsar Refractors – exclusive to hanger boxes.
  • SkyLight Refractors – found only in Fanatics mega boxes.
  • Blue X-Fractors – exclusive to standard mega boxes.
  • Geometric Refractors – Breaker’s Delight exclusives, with color tiers in Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Black (/10), Red (/5), and White (/2).

With its deep parallel lineup, multiple box formats, and the return of fully licensed Chrome basketball, 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball is positioned as a key release for both set builders and hit chasers in the new season.
