2023-24 Donruss Basketball is one of those sets that collectors can sink into several ways. Whether they’re into building the base set, going after autographs, chasing out-there inserts or building out a large roster of cards from their favorite players or teams, the checklist has a lot going on.
Hobby boxes opted for a jumbo format this year with big 30-card packs. Each of these boxes promises one autograph and 60 total inserts and parallels across 10 packs.
The base set is split into a couple of sections. Vets have standard player cards. For first-year standouts, there’s the cornerstone Rated Rookie subset.
Parallels come in a wide mix of varieties. Press Proof Silver Die-Cut (/75), Holo Blue Laser (/49), Press Proof Gold Die-Cut (/25), Holo Gold Laser (/10) and Holo Black Laser (1/1) are all exclusive to hobby. Smaller Choice boxes have three parallels not found in any other configurations: Choice, Choice Dragon, Choice Red (/99), Choice Blue (/49), Choice Gold (/10), and Choice Black (1/1).
Rated Rookies Signatures add an autograph level for select cards. Among the parallels for these Choice Blue and Choice Black Gold.

When you look across all the different 2023-24 Donruss Basketball configurations in hobby and retail, there are a lot of insert sets. Crunch Time, Hardwood Masters, Net Marvels, Retro Series, Unleashed, and Zero Gravity are all only in hobby packs.
So are Animation and Night Moves, a pair of tough short print chase sets.
