Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version Connect to Pokémon HOME
Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version for Nintendo Switch can now link with Pokémon HOME, giving players a new way to move their Pokémon into the broader Pokémon series. With the latest update, Pokémon caught in either title can be transferred to Pokémon HOME and then brought into other compatible games.
The update also means those Pokémon can visit Pokémon Champions, allowing Trainers to take them into future battles. The new connection expands what players can do with their teams after finishing their adventures in FireRed or LeafGreen.
What Happens When Pokémon Are Moved
There are some important limits to keep in mind. Once a Pokémon from Pokémon FireRed Version or Pokémon LeafGreen Version is moved into Pokémon HOME, it cannot return to either of those games. In addition, Pokémon from other games in the Pokémon series cannot be sent back into Pokémon FireRed Version or Pokémon LeafGreen Version.
The connection is designed as a one-way transfer path from these titles into Pokémon HOME and beyond. That makes it possible to preserve and continue using Pokémon from the original games in newer parts of the series, while keeping the older games separate from outside transfers.

Pokédex Progress Carries Over Automatically
One of the most notable parts of the update is that players do not need to transfer every Pokémon to complete the Pokédex in Pokémon HOME. Once Pokémon HOME is connected, any Pokémon already registered in the Pokédex in Pokémon FireRed Version or Pokémon LeafGreen Version will be registered in Pokémon HOME as well.
That means Pokédex progress can carry over automatically after the connection is made, making it easier for players to work toward the new reward tied to completion.
Mythical Pokémon Celebi Is the Reward
Players who complete the Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version Pokédex in Pokémon HOME can receive the Mythical Pokémon Celebi as a gift in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME. The reward is tied to finishing the Pokédex, adding an extra incentive for players to connect the games and register their progress.

Pokémon HOME on Switch, iOS, and Android
Pokémon HOME is available on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. The service launched on February 12, 2020, and is listed as a utility app for managing Pokémon across compatible titles.
With Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version now able to connect, Pokémon HOME continues to serve as a central hub for keeping Pokémon together across multiple games in the series.
How the New Connection Changes Play
For players revisiting FireRed and LeafGreen, the update adds a new layer of long-term value to catching and raising Pokémon in those games. Teams can now move forward into Pokémon HOME and continue their journey in other compatible titles, including Pokémon Champions.
The feature also gives Pokédex completion a more direct reward path. Instead of stopping at the original games, players can now use Pokémon HOME to track progress and unlock Celebi once the Pokédex is finished.
Because the registration process works automatically after the connection is made, players can see their Pokédex progress reflected in Pokémon HOME without needing to transfer every individual Pokémon first. That makes the update useful both for collectors and for players who want to preserve their progress across the series.
For fans of Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, the new Pokémon HOME connection opens the door to keeping those Pokémon active in later games while also adding a clear reward for completing the Pokédex.
