World Cup demand powers Club Legacyz Icons 4th Edition

World Cup excitement is showing up in the soccer card market, and Club Legacyz says its Icons 4th Edition Football release is one of the clearest examples yet. The France-based company launched the set on June 15, and it sold out in two hours.

Co-founder Noe Fraidenraich said the strong response reflects a growing appetite for football trading cards and the global pull of the World Cup. He described the release as a major step forward for the brand, while also noting that collector demand continues to rise.

“It is a great [series], but we are still very hungry,” Fraidenraich said.

Club Legacyz has positioned Icons Football around a mix of culture, fandom, and investment, with the World Cup serving as a major catalyst for interest. Fraidenraich said the tournament helps push football cards toward a wider global audience.

“We believe football trading cards are at the intersection of culture, fandom and investment, and the World Cup will be the catalyst that makes them a global obsession,” he said.

Icons 4th Edition features 60 players and 27 nationalities

Fraidenraich said the Icons 4th Edition Football set carries a strong World Cup feel because of its international roster. The checklist includes 60 players representing 27 nationalities, which he described as the maximum amount of nationality in the series roster.

The set is also Club Legacyz’s largest edition to date, with 75,000 cards. According to the company, the release includes special inscription cards, match-worn jersey cards, and key on-card autographs.

Cards are printed in France and use a Euro aesthetic and premium presentation. Each card is sequentially numbered in varying editions, with no more than 200 copies of any design, and some cards are true one-of-ones.

Fraidenraich said the company sees on-card autographs as the most important part of the Icons Football line.

“On-card autos is the most important element of Icons Football Cards,” he said.

He added that players are involved in the creative process and help shape their own cards.

“Players are designing/choosing their collections and designs,” Fraidenraich said. “It makes no sense for them and for us to send them a board of stickers [to sign]. They want to see the cards; they want to touch them and manipulate them.”

Premium presentation and on-card signatures drive the chase

Club Legacyz says the Icons World Heroes portion of the release includes players such as Erling Haaland, Marquinhos, and Rafael Leao. The company says each card is revealed in a premium tray and protected in a holder, with the cards able to be removed for grading.

Fraidenraich said the artwork is designed to reflect each player’s personality and style, giving collectors a different look at familiar stars. Other licensed players in the set include Luka Modric, Bradley Barcola, Iniesta, Federico Valverde, Ronaldinho, and more.

There are more than 50 players in the set overall. Club Legacyz sells the product in display boxes, with each display containing 10 mini boxes. A display includes one on-card autograph, and the MSRP is $29.99 per mini box.

The company said the 4th Edition improved the checklist from earlier releases, and Fraidenraich pointed to the stronger player selection as part of the product’s appeal.

“The players’ checklist improved,” he said.

Erling Haaland cards draw strong attention

One of the most talked-about names in the release is Erling Haaland. Fraidenraich said the Manchester City and Norway striker is among the players in the Icons 4th Edition set and that his cards are already generating strong interest on the secondary market.

Haaland is considered one of the top players in the world and is being discussed as a candidate for the World Cup Golden Boot, awarded to the tournament’s top goal scorer. Fraidenraich described him as known for his speed, strength, positioning, and finishing inside the box.

“Icons Football cards is about gathering a roster with the world’s greatest and legends of the game,” he said.

There are 30 players in the Icons 4th Edition who are playing in the World Cup, and Fraidenraich said the Haaland on-card autographs are especially meaningful because of the player’s stature.

“There are 91 Erling autographed cards,” he said. “The Erling on-card autographs are special because he is a special player.”

Fraidenraich also noted that one of the regular Haaland cards features a breakfast cereal theme, adding another layer of collector interest to the checklist.

Earlier Club Legacyz releases helped build momentum

Icons 4th Edition follows a steady rollout of Club Legacyz football products. Edition 1 launched last summer alongside the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago. Edition 2 followed in November and December, and Edition 3 arrived in April.

Fraidenraich said the latest release delivered on expectations and helped confirm the brand’s direction.

“The 4th Edition definitely delivered,” he said.

He also said the company is already planning Icons 5th Edition for a late-2026 launch. That release is expected to include new players, and the main change will be a themed edition.

“There are some Easter eggs in the Icons 4th edition that will be revealed this summer on social media,” he said.

Club Legacyz prepares for The National with limited stock

Club Legacyz will also have a presence at the 2026 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago. Fraidenraich said the company is sponsoring the VIP area and using the event to build awareness with collectors.

He added that the company held back a small amount of Icons 4th Edition for the show floor and will work with retailers at the event to move that remaining inventory.

“We knew this was a special release. We knew The National is the world’s card showcase. We didn’t know we’d be so glad to have planned ahead and held some of this edition for it,” Fraidenraich said.

With a limited numbered checklist, on-card autographs, match-worn jersey cards, and strong World Cup tie-ins, Icons 4th Edition has quickly become one of Club Legacyz’s most in-demand football releases to date.
