Upper Deck Brings Transformers: The Movie Back to Trading Cards

Upper Deck is moving forward with another retro property after securing a licensing agreement with Hasbro, and the first announced product is 2026 Fleer Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary. The set revisits the 1986 animated science fiction film and marks an early step in Upper Deck's plan to bring several classic franchises into the trading card space.

The first product details point to a hobby release built around a mix of base cards, parallels, autographs, relics, inserts, and chase content tied directly to the movie. Upper Deck has not yet announced a release date, but the structure of the product is already taking shape.

The checklist begins with a 100-card base set. According to the initial information, the set includes 65 characters and 35 scenes from the film, giving collectors a blend of character-focused cards and movie imagery.

Upper Deck is also planning multiple parallel versions of the base set. Numbered Glossy parallels will be offered in Gold, Blue, Pink, Purple, and Red, although print runs have not been announced. Additional parallels include Rubsign versions that use heat-sensitive printing technology, along with a 1/1 'Til All Are One parallel.

Autographs, Relics, and Premium Hits

Collectors should find an autograph or relic card in every hobby box. The product information states that each box will include one autograph or relic card, three numbered cards, one lenticular insert, and one additional chase card.

Voice actors have signed cards for the set, beginning with a 40th Anniversary Autograph parallel for select base cards. Upper Deck has also outlined several autograph concepts, including Genuine Ink, Cinematic Signatures, and Legends Of Autobot City Autographs.
