Kicking off its 2023 calendar, Wheatland Auctions, based in Pennsylvania, is hosting a substantial sale that showcases a remarkable variety of sports collectibles. This diverse auction includes nearly 500 lots, blending the allure of modern and vintage sports cards and memorabilia.

A highlight of this sale is the inclusion of twelve sealed cases of Panini’s premium football products, appealing to collectors of contemporary sports cards. These cases feature sought-after editions like the 2018 Prizm Hobby, 2020 Prizm Jumbo, 2021 Flawless, and several versions of National Treasures, Contenders Optic, Immaculate, Select, and Panini One, making them coveted items for modern sports card collectors.

The auction also boasts a significant collection of vintage and modern cards. Among these are the lower to mid-grade copies of the four Babe Ruth cards from the famed 1933 Goudey set, alongside a highly graded 1922 E121 American Caramel Ruth card. Adding to the vintage appeal are 1933 and 1934 Lou Gehrig cards, five Michael Jordan rookie cards, and two Jordan rookie stickers, each holding a special place in basketball history.

Other notable items include an SGC 10 graded 1986-87 Fleer Isiah Thomas rookie card, 1926 W512 cards featuring Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb, and partial sets from the 1933 and 1934 Goudey, 1934-36 Batter Up, and 1934-36 Diamond Stars series. Additionally, individual Diamond Stars cards of Mel Ott, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, and Hank Greenberg are featured, demonstrating the depth and variety of the collection.

The memorabilia section is equally impressive, with single signed baseballs from Pie Traynor, Frankie Frisch, Willie Mays, and a Thurman Munson Little League ball. A standout item is a rare ticket from Game 2 of the 1917 World Series, offering collectors a unique piece of baseball history.

Wheatland Auctions is recognized for its extensive offerings of complete and partial vintage sets and graded cards from the post-war era, and this event continues to uphold that reputation. The auction, which runs through Sunday, February 18, provides sports enthusiasts and collectors an exciting opportunity to acquire pieces from different eras of sports history.

Whether it's the modern allure of sealed high-end football products, the historical significance of vintage baseball cards, or the rarity of authentic memorabilia, this auction presents a unique and comprehensive array of sports collectibles to suit a wide range of interests and preferences.
