“It’s incredible to see the players give back in this way,” said Fitzgerald. “Fans get the chance to meet their favorite athletes, and at the same time, they’re making a meaningful contribution to the community. It’s a win for everyone.”
A Journey Worth Taking for Fans
For Michelle Stevens and her two sons, the event was an opportunity they couldn’t pass up. The family drove 45 minutes from Two Rivers to Green Bay after Michelle stumbled upon the event on Facebook.“When I saw this, I told them, ‘We’re skipping basketball practice tonight and going to get autographs,’” Michelle said. A single mother raising two young football players, she spoke about the impact of meeting their NFL heroes in person.
“It’s amazing. These players have overcome so much to get where they are. For my boys to see that, it’s inspiring. It shows them that if they work hard, they can achieve their dreams too,” Michelle added.
Her sons, Morgan and Mason, were thrilled to meet Packers stars. “It’s awesome,” said Morgan. “I got to meet an NFL player in person. That’s something I’ll never forget.”
Mason was equally ecstatic. “I watch A.J. Dillon and Bo Melton all the time on YouTube, and now I have their autographs! It’s worth so much to me,” he said with a grin.
