The trade making headlines over the last week involving Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland Cavaliers has sports card collectors believing great things are ahead for the Cleveland Cavs and their future. Pairing him up with the bright class of rookies they have on their roster might push them quite a bit further into the playoffs this year, with Evan Mobley and Darius Garland, this might be a fun trio to watch this year. With LeBron James, and Kyrie Irving at his side being the only person in history to bring the Cavaliers an NBA Championship in 2016, and all hope lost for the team after his departure, we are sure Cleveland fans are pretty happy with the pick-up, even though they gave away 3 potential building blocks for the future.

Donovan Mitchell has averaged nearly 24 points along with 4.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists with the Utah Jazz, who are currently in rebuilding mode traded him away for 3 future draft picks, and Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji. Mitchell has made the All-Star team for the last 3 seasons in a row.

Search term "Donovan Mitchell Rookie Card" increased an incredible 845% on eBay in a 2 day span between August 31st and September 2nd. Other search terms “Donovan Mitchell trading card” jumped 715%, and searches for his name alone went up by 545%.

Rookie card sales were up by 400%, and over-all a 458% increase in Donovan Mitchell sales alone. The largest card sold this year of Donovan Mitchell has been a PSA 10 2017-18 National Treasures Gold RPA /10, selling for $36,000. His 2017-18 Kaboom cards have also seen a huge increase in sales price since July as well, with a PSA 10 sale in June for $1000, and with one ending in August for $2400, seeing a 140% increase in just over a 2 month period, before the trade was even announced.
