Hey fellow card collectors and NFL fans,

I wanted to start a discussion about the recent news regarding Panini's NFL cards. As many of you may know, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) terminated their contract with Panini, leaving us all wondering about the future of NFL trading cards.

This decision by the NFLPA has certainly raised some eyebrows and generated a lot of questions. Many collectors, myself included, have been loyal Panini customers for years, enjoying their NFL trading card sets featuring some of our favorite players. Now, with the termination of their contract, what lies ahead for Panini and NFL cards in general?

One thing that has become clear is that Panini isn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. Despite losing the NFLPA license, they've shown determination in continuing to produce NFL cards. While they may no longer have the rights to use player likenesses, they still have access to NFL team logos and branding. This could potentially lead to cards that focus more on team themes, logos, and iconic moments rather than individual players.

But what does this mean for collectors? Are we still interested in collecting NFL cards that don't feature player photos and stats? While the initial reaction for some might be skepticism, I believe there's still potential for excitement. Collectors have always been drawn to the artistic and thematic aspects of trading cards, and the creativity Panini can employ in their designs could offer a unique and fresh perspective on NFL cards.

Additionally, this situation might open the door for new opportunities. Other trading card companies could step up and secure licensing deals with the NFLPA, providing collectors with alternative options and potentially igniting some healthy competition in the market.

Of course, we'll have to wait and see how Panini and the NFL card market evolve in the post-NFLPA era. It's an uncertain time, but it's also an exciting one filled with possibilities. As collectors, we adapt and find joy in the passion we share for the hobby, regardless of the challenges.

So, what are your thoughts on Panini's decision to continue producing NFL cards? Are you optimistic about the future of NFL trading cards even without player likenesses, or are you considering exploring alternatives? Let's use this thread to share our perspectives and speculate on what's next for NFL card collecting.

I'm eager to hear your thoughts and insights as we navigate this intriguing period in the world of trading cards.

Air brushed out logos are less desireable than college logos. With no true RPAs and the exclusive deals Fanitics is locking up, Panini US is dead.
