Leaf Trading Cards has launched its highly anticipated 2024 Leaf Metal Women of Sport collection, putting the spotlight on some of the biggest names in women’s athletics. From NIL superstars like LSU’s Livvy Dunne and UConn’s Paige Bueckers to professional icons such as Mia Hamm and Alex Morgan, the collection brings together legends, rising stars, and future talents across various sports.
This new multi-sport trading card set is a first in the industry, celebrating female athletes from different eras in a single product. Featured autograph sets include Herstory, She Got Game, Starstruck, Dazzlers, Unbreakable Duals, and Anime Nation, making it a must-have for collectors and fans alike.
In addition to legends like Cheryl Miller, Lisa Leslie, Jennie Finch, and Doris Burke, the collection showcases a host of NIL athletes, including Dunne, Bueckers, UCLA softball standout Maya Brady, and Clemson’s Makenzie Steele. It also features some of the brightest young stars in pro sports, such as U.S. Women's National Soccer Team players Sophia Smith and Trinity Rodman, as well as WNBA star Cameron Brink and Mexican flag football sensation Diana Flores.
CJ Breen, Leaf’s Director of Marketing and Licensing, explained the motivation behind the collection: “One of my top priorities has been to sign and recognize female athletes who have often been overlooked in the trading card world. This collection gives them the spotlight they deserve.”
Among the most notable additions is Duke freshman basketball sensation Toby Fournier, known for her viral dunking highlights. Fournier recently inked an exclusive trading card deal with Leaf, becoming the first incoming freshman in women’s basketball to do so.
The Women of Sport collection also includes dynamic pairings and group cards. A special card featuring U.S. soccer stars Hamm, Morgan, Smith, and Brandi Chastain celebrates the impact of these trailblazers, while a duo card brings together Brink and Bueckers. There’s even an animated card featuring Bueckers, highlighting her skills and personality in a fun, artistic format.
