Is your 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan Rookie #57 a real card or a reprint? Here are some steps to help you authenticate your card so you know if you have a fake or not!
The Fleer Logo
In the upper hand right section of the 1986 Fleer Jordan Rookies is the Fleer Logo, The branding of the card. This will be one of the first places you will look for signs of reprinting. The color will be different between the arrow pointing up, almost orange on an authentic copy, while the "premier" will be yellow. On the fake re-prints of this card, the color will not variate much, and the colors are very similar, but please be careful, this is not the only sign and current fake's have managed to correct this. The Bulls Logo On The Back
On a real card, the lines will feature separation of the eyes and is a clear representation of the logo. On the fake card, you will notice not much separation and and wont see much white on the eyes of the bull.
Decimal point in the stats
If you card is missing the decimal point on the scoring average, your card is one hundred percent a fake. The font also is different from the original and the decimal point is off to the right more on the fakes that fixed this original reprint error.
Colons After Height and Weight
Some fake's will have only a single upper dot rather than both of the dots of the colon next to the Height and Weight sections on the back of the card. If your card only has 1 color, you can be assured it is a fake.
NBA Logo On Back
The NBA Logo on the back of an authentic Jordan rookie will have clear white definition through the NBA logo making it appear as basketball lines. Most fakes look like a blue blob.
Michael Jordan Lettering On Front of Card
The authentic version of this card will have a clear writing with no visible fading or color fading.
Ghost In The Stands
Authentic Michael Jordan rookie cards will have the appearance of a ghost walking in the stands. The fake version of this is normally dark and will be missing the "Ghost".
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and we will try to help with any authentication!! These fakes are getting better and better, and we hope we can help you eliminate any concerns when purchasing this Grail Michael Jordan 1986 Fleer Rookie!
