The latest auction from Robert Edward Auctions, the February Encore event, showcases a remarkable collection of nearly 2,800 items, from 19th-century baseball cards to autographs of modern icons. Noteworthy lots include graded cards of Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth, alongside a rare offering of T206 cards with unique advertising backs.

Robert Edward Auctions has launched its February Encore event, a treasure trove for collectors that spans the history of sports memorabilia. This online auction features an array of items, from the classic Old Judge baseball cards to memorabilia of modern-day legend Aaron Judge. Standout pieces in the auction include high-grade cards of baseball legends, such as a 1934 R320 Goudey Lou Gehrig and a 1948-1949 Leaf Babe Ruth, both receiving a PSA EX-MT 6 rating.

A significant early highlight of the auction is a PSA 5 graded M116 Sporting Life Honus Wagner card, which quickly climbed to $17,000 in initial bidding. The auction also offers other historical cards from the series, featuring Ty Cobb, Frank Chance, and Chief Bender, each set against a blue background and graded PSA 2.

Among the auction's diverse offerings are a T206 White Border Ty Cobb Portrait with a Red Background and a Tolstoi Back, graded PSA VG-EX 4, and a complete set of 1986-1987 Fleer Basketball, all cards graded PSA NM-MT 8. Hockey enthusiasts have the chance to acquire a 1985-1986 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Unopened Wax Box, which includes 48 packs and the potential for a Mario Lemieux rookie card.

In addition to sports cards, the auction features memorable pieces like a ticket stub from Game 1 of the 1954 World Series, graded PSA FAIR 1.5, famous for Willie Mays' iconic catch.

The auction is rich with T206 cards, offering more than 900 examples, many showcasing sought-after advertising backs such as Sovereign, Cycle, American Beauty, Carolina Brights, and Brown Hindu.

REA President Brian Dwyer expressed enthusiasm for the auction's variety, crediting the broad interests of their clientele for the eclectic mix. Following the success of their previous monthly auction, this February event promises a wealth of choices for bidders.

The auction is active until Sunday, February 18, with final bids required by 9 PM ET to engage in the extended bidding process. Interested parties can participate and view the full catalog on the Robert Edward Auctions website.
